Ransom Zapper Help Manual
Simple help for browser protection, unsafe page warnings, browser messages, account access, support, and common computer questions.
Getting Started
Ransom Zapper has two parts: the Windows app and the browser extension. The Windows app gives you the main dashboard and support options. The browser extension helps warn you before unsafe pages or strange browser messages cause trouble.
Install the Windows app
- Download Ransom Zapper for Windows.
- Open the installer.
- Follow the setup steps on your screen.
- If Windows asks for permission, click Yes.
- Open Ransom Zapper after setup is finished.
Add browser protection
- Open Chrome or Edge.
- Add the Ransom Zapper browser extension.
- After it is ready, the extension may show: Browser protection is ready.
The extension is designed to keep working locally even when the desktop app is closed.
Using the Desktop App
The desktop app is the main place to see your protection status, recent activity, account access, computer checks, and help options.

Browser Protection
Browser protection helps with unsafe pages, fake warnings, remote-help pages, suspicious account messages, and website message requests.
Extension popup
Click the Ransom Zapper icon in your browser to open the small popup. It can show whether browser protection is ready, whether protection is on or off, and trusted websites.

Common Questions
Why did Ransom Zapper stop a page?
The page may have used wording, behavior, or website details commonly seen in online scams. Close the page if you were not expecting it.
What does Allow once mean?
Allow once opens the page this time only. It does not permanently trust the website.
What does Always allow this website mean?
It adds the website to your trusted list. Ransom Zapper will step aside for that website in the future.
Why does the extension still work when the desktop app is closed?
The extension keeps simple page settings in the browser so it can continue helping locally.
Why does Windows ask for permission?
Windows asks before allowing important computer changes. Click Yes only when you expected Ransom Zapper to make a change.
Why do browser messages keep coming back?
A website may have saved permission inside your browser. Use the browser message cleanup option and close your browser first if asked.
What should I do if someone calls and says my computer has a problem?
Do not give them control of your computer. Do not share payment information. Open Ransom Zapper and choose “Someone called or told me I have a problem.”
What should I do if I clicked something I should not have?
Stop using the page, do not enter more information, and choose “I clicked something I shouldn’t have” in the app.
Will signing out turn protection off?
No. Signing out is for your account and support plan. Protection settings should stay on this computer.
